Technological implant has become one of the important terms in the field of medical science. Cyborg is a short term for “Cybernetic Organism” that represents organisms which are merged into human bodies with technological implants. This term was first used in 1960 by Manfred Clynes and Nathan S.Kline to represent the man-machine system in which external drugs or regulatory devices are used to control the mechanisms of human body part. The cybernetic organisms are organic and biomechatronic body parts, that is partly human and partly machine.
The very first human cyborg was created by Philip Kennedy in 1997 but that human cyborg died in 2002. Kevin Warwick is called the founder Cyber Project. He was the head of a team of researchers who carried out a successful series of neuro-surgical implantations that link the nervous system directly to a computer. We have examples of many abnormal people who have been inserted implants in their bodies to survive in a natural way. People who have lost their vocal cords, vision or liver etc. can survive with this technology. Other examples of cybernetic organisms are retinal implants, cardial pacemaker and prosthetic limb etc. Further, a number of experiments are carrying out in medical science to develop the senses in cyborg organisms.
Beyond medical science, many practices are being done on merging software in human beings. The human is heading towards the cyborg future by using this technology. The needs of human are not limited. Many scientists are working to find a technique for age reversal. Many scientists believe that cyber technology would be the next step towards establishing the space colonies in Mars. According to many scientists this technology can extend the capabilities of human body in future. They believe that cyborg technology would be the next step in the evolution of mankind.
